Bridal, Mother of the Bride

Real Bride Story – Sally

Cathedral length bridal veil by Abigail Fergusson Millinery, Sydney bridal milliner

Bride-to-be Sally came to me about 6 months before her big day wanting two looks, a cathedral length veil for the ceremony, and a bright vibrant headband to party the night away at the reception.

At our initial consultation we covered things like the style of wedding, the dress and reception outfit, hair, flowers and the venue… which turned out to be the same place I was married a number of years ago!

For the veil, Sally opted for a design of ivory silk organza flowers with a mixture of hand beaded Swarovski pearls and crystals that would cascade down the veil. For the headband, Sally chose a bright royal blue silk satin with shibori silk pleated ribbon.

In additional to her bridal pieces, Sally also gifted a bespoke hat to her lovely mother, Ann, for Mother’s Day to wear to the wedding. Which as mother of the bride, made sure she stood out from the crowd and completed her outfit.

It was such a pleasure to work with Sally and Ann and I am so happy to hear that Sally’s veil will be worn again this year by one of her bridesmaids (something borrowed!) and that Ann’s hat was a hit a the wedding.

Congratulations to Sally and Harry!
